'1941,' a sweeping action film set for release in 2027 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China, has unveiled what may be the most star-studded cast in Chinese-language cinema history. The lineup brings together Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Wu Jing, Sammo Hung, Yuen Woo-ping, Andy Lau, Ekin Cheng, Jordan Chan, Louis Koo, Nick Cheung, Edison Chen, and Sheren Tang — representing multiple generations of Hong Kong and mainland action cinema under one roof.

About '1941'

Set during the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong in 1941, the film follows three small-time figures with their own hidden agendas: martial arts star He Yong (Edison Chen), hitman Di Tian (Nick Cheung), and fighter Zhao Chongyi (Louis Koo). Forced to join forces, they infiltrate the fallen Kowloon to carry out a top-secret rescue mission. Through betrayal and sacrifice, the unlikely trio transforms from a ragtag group into true comrades fighting for justice — a tragic yet stirring tale set against the chaos of wartime.

The film is directed by Chin Ka-lok and Huang Hai, with Derek Yee — known for *The Warlords* (*十月围城*) and *Infernal Affairs II* — serving as producer and screenwriter.
