"Sunshine Women's Choir" has accumulated NT$740 million at the Taiwan box office, vaulting into the island's all-time top 10 and becoming the first Taiwanese-produced film ever to make that list. The movie has also been selected for the competition section of the Udine Far East Film Festival and has posted strong numbers in the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, Macau and beyond.

According to a press release issued by the film's production company on Nov. 16, "Sunshine Women's Choir" has now grossed NT$740 million in Taiwan, making it the first local film to enter the country's all-time top 10. According to the company's data, the top 10 highest-grossing films in Taiwan history are "Avatar," "Avengers: Endgame," "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Chapter One: Akaza Returns," "Jurassic World," "Furious 7," "Titanic," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Avatar: The Way of Water," "Zootopia 2" and "Sunshine Women's Choir."

Beyond its Taiwan success, "Sunshine Women's Choir" has been selected for the competition section of the Udine Far East Film Festival and has opened to strong results in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. In Malaysia, the film has surpassed 4.2 million ringgit (about NT$34 million), setting the highest box office record for a Taiwanese film in Malaysia in nearly eight years. In Hong Kong and Macau, the film has earned HK$2 million (about NT$8.2 million) in its first two weeks of release.

Responding to the results, director Lin Hsiao-chien said he was filled with gratitude, adding that he hopes "'Sunshine' can carry these strong results forward and continue traveling around the world, so that love can be seen by more people." Cast member Ho Man-hei also said, "It's because of your support and resonance that this film about love has been able to come this far, step by step. This achievement doesn't just belong to the film or to us — it belongs to every audience member who was willing to step into a theater to feel love, and to share that love with others."
